“Jesus fucking Christ,” he says, exhaling laughter along with cigarette smoke.

Like everyone else at Prescott High, he's got a history that's as dark as his violet-tinged black hair. He's a fucking monster, this boy, six foot five with eyes like flint, and a mouth that's a hot slash of menace across the bottom of his handsome face. Their leader, Victor, turns around, leaving his open locker behind him, and crosses his inked arms over his equally inked-up chest. Boys.Įach of them is terrifying in their own right, but together? They own this school and everyone in it. Everyone in it turns to face me, the girl foolish enough to bring them down on me, those dirty, rotten H.A.V.O.C. It's the first thing I utter when I get past the security guards, drug dogs, and metal detectors that guard the entrance of Prescott High. The word slips past my lips before I can stop it, before I can question the decision I just spent a whole summer making. This series will have a happy ending in the third and final book. None of the main characters is under the age of seventeen. There’s underage drinking, marijuana use, sexual situations, and other adult scenarios. The characters are brutal, the emotions real, the f-word in prolific use. This book might be about high school students, but it is not what I would consider young adult. It’s not quite as gritty as I Was Born Ruined (the first book in my Death by Daybreak Motorcycle Club series).Īny kissing/sexual scenes featuring Bernie are consensual. If you’ve read my other two high school romance series-Rich Boys of Burberry Prep or Adamson All-Boys Academy-then just know this one is a bit more intense, and character growth/redemption are needed more than ever. Might be hard though, considering the Havoc Boys are dicks. If the love interests in this story want to win the main character over, they’ll have to earn it. This book in no way condones bullying, nor does it romanticize it.

It also means that for a portion of this book, the love interests are total assholes there are also flashbacks of past incidents involving bullying. What does that mean exactly? It means our female main character, Bernadette Blackbird, will end up with at least three love interests by the end of the series. Havoc at Prescott High is a reverse harem, high school, enemies-to-lovers/love hate/bully romance.
