I love books that have this kind of feel to them, and if it wasn’t so slowly paced it would have been an A grade. Someone new to Showalter might enjoy this more than an established fan like me.Īs for the world, I was fully immersed in it, and while it is familiar to me from her other Otherworld series, it feels completely fresh. I am trying not to let that affect my feelings toward the story, because it is a good story. I went into it expecting her usual stuff and this is not it at all. I have to start by saying that I am not sure if Gena Showalter is purposely writing in a new style or that is just how this book went. I just wish it had lived up to her other books more. As soon as I read the blurb on Last Kiss Goodnight, I had to have it.
